Sustainable Energy Projects in Peru: German-Peruvian Partnership for Production and Development

These groundbreaking energy generation projects have their production base firmly established in Peru. Coordination, management, administration, development, and financing will be conducted from Germany, in close coordination between both countries.

Our goal is to complete the installation of the facilities between 2025 and 2026, with the aim of achieving full production by the year 2027. This collaboration between Peru and Germany marks a significant step towards a sustainable and climate-friendly energy future.

1. Photovoltaic Solar Park

A photovoltaic solar park consists of solar panels that convert sunlight into electricity using photovoltaic cells. These cells are made of semiconductor materials that release electrons when hit by photons of sunlight, generating electric current.

Why resort to this form of energy: Photovoltaic solar energy is relied upon due to its clean and renewable nature. Solar panels efficiently and sustainably convert sunlight into electricity without emitting greenhouse gases or atmospheric pollutants. Additionally, solar energy is abundant and available worldwide, making it an accessible and reliable energy source.

Why Peru is optimal for solar energy?

Peru has high solar radiation due to its geographic location near the equator. This means it receives a significant amount of sunlight throughout the year, making it an ideal location for solar energy generation. Additionally, the country has extensive land areas suitable for solar park installation, facilitating the expansion of this form of energy.

Why invest or donate in a Photovoltaic Park project? What are the arguments?

Sustainability: Solar energy is a clean and renewable energy source that doesn’t produce CO2 emissions or other greenhouse gases, helping combat climate change.

Cost-effectiveness: In the long term, solar energy is a profitable investment as once installed, solar panels require little maintenance, and the generated energy is free.

Positive environmental impact: Investing in a solar park directly contributes to reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promotes a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.

Wind Energy

2. Wind Energy

Wind energy is generated by harnessing the wind to rotate the blades of wind turbines, which in turn drive a generator to produce electricity.

Why resort to this form of energy: Wind energy is used because of its ability to generate electricity cleanly and sustainably using wind as a natural resource. Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy of the wind into electricity without producing polluting emissions or depleting finite natural resources. Additionally, wind energy is a renewable energy form that can complement solar generation, providing a constant energy source even at night or on cloudy days.

Why Peru is optimal for wind energy?

Peru has diverse topography including mountainous and coastal regions, where favorable wind currents can be harnessed for wind energy generation. Additionally, the country has an extensive coastline exposed to winds from the Pacific Ocean, providing significant wind resources in many coastal areas. These conditions make Peru an optimal place for wind farm development and the generation of clean and sustainable energy.

Why invest or donate in a Wind Energy project? What are the advantages?

  1. Clean and renewable energy: Like solar energy, wind energy is a renewable energy source that emits no CO2 or other atmospheric pollutants during operation.
  2. Proven and reliable technology: Wind energy technology has advanced significantly in recent decades and has become a reliable source of electricity in many regions worldwide.
  3. Growth potential: Wind energy has significant growth potential, especially in areas with consistent and strong winds, making it an attractive option for investment in sustainable energy future

3. Floating Photovoltaic System

Floating photovoltaic systems consist of solar panels installed on floating structures in bodies of water, such as lakes, reservoirs, or ponds. These systems utilize available water surfaces to generate electricity from sunlight.

The floating photovoltaic system is resorted to as an innovative and efficient solution for solar energy generation in places where land availability is limited or costly. Additionally, it offers several additional benefits.

Advantages of this method

  • Utilization of water surfaces: It uses existing water bodies like lakes, reservoirs, or ponds to install solar panels, maximizing the use of available space and avoiding competition with other land activities such as agriculture or urbanization.
  • Reduction of water evaporation: By covering part of the water surface with solar panels, evaporation is reduced, which can be especially beneficial in regions prone to water scarcity. This can have a positive impact on water conservation and management.
